SMC THAILAND
SMC Thailand Ltd. was established in 1994. We moved our factory to Bangkadi Industrial Park in 1995, so the company
is only 2.5 years old. Our sales in1996 compare with sales in 1995 growth about 250%.

SMC factory in Thailand has more than 4,800 square metre.We have space to expand a new plant in the same location
at least twice the size. In 1995 we had 10 employees, but in 1997 we have more than 60 employees in our plant. We
have now set up our first branch at Rayong province. This branch is near the deep seaport to support Petrochemical
plant, car plant, etc. in the east Thailand area.

Our production division can produce air cylinder model CJ2, CM2,CG1, CK1, C75 and C85 for local customers. We have
a project division to design and build control system, pick and place unit, etc.

SMC Thailand is about 20 km north from Bangkok international Airport, and about 35 km from central Bangkok by the
express way.

Major customers of SMC in Thailand are in Bangkok and the provinces of Bangkok. But now Thai goverment tries to
expand industry to the remote ares of Thailand. We have some customers in the north, the east and the south of
Thailand, and We will now establish other branches in these regions.

There are many kinds of industry in Thailand: for example, the car industry, the electronics industry and the computer
industry, the food industry, etc.

Now, in Thailand the financial sector has some problem with economic growth, but the problems in SMC Thailand are
not very serious because many industry in Thailand produce for exporting to the world market and that it will be stable
sooner or later.

For our customer support we installed AS400 computer system and use it for order processing and inventory control.
We setup training room and interational training for the customers. We have Technical Support Engineers and Project
Engineers to support the customers when they want pneumatic advice, and technical system design.

SMC has good future in Thailand because many industries have problems with man power and salary growth ; therefor,
they want to replacs man power by automatic machines. IT is the reason that can convince them to use SMC Pneumatic
for automatic machine.

In Sales Department we have product training, technical training by the expert trainer for many courses. Now we set up
the testing program for product and technical knowledge to all of Sales Engineers and Sales staffs.
